Delaware is part of Chain's regular service area. We design and install business networks, WiFi and the fiber under them, for offices, stores, restaurants, warehouses and multi-building properties.
Much of the state is flat and open, and many properties spread across several buildings: barns and poultry houses on farms, warehouses with a separate office, and seasonal businesses with more than one structure. Fiber links those buildings without the 100-meter limit of Ethernet or the line-of-sight problems of a wireless bridge.
Poultry houses and barns are hard on electronics, with dust, moisture and wide temperature swings. Switches and enclosures in those buildings need to suit the space, or stay in a cleaner room with fiber running out to the barns.
Low ground and a high water table near the coast mean conduit often holds water. Outdoor fiber is built for that, with water-blocking inside the jacket, and we size conduit and handholes so the cable can be pulled and pulled again later. Near the beaches, salt air is hard on outdoor hardware, so enclosures and entry points need to be sealed.
Seasonal businesses near the shore need their networks working before the busy months start. We plan cutovers for the off-season, so registers, cameras and guest WiFi are tested and ready ahead of opening day.
In Delaware, locate requests go to Delmarva 811, part of the Miss Utility system, by dialing 811. State law requires notice at least two working days, and no more than 10, before digging. The person doing the digging places the ticket.
Utilities mark only their own lines. Private lines past the meter, like power or water to a barn or outbuilding, aren't marked, and on farms and larger properties there are usually several. We ask about them before planning a trench.
Every fiber strand gets a loss test with a light source and power meter, and copper runs are certification-tested. You get labeled enclosures, the results and a map of which strand goes where.
Most network jobs touch more than one system. We also run certification-tested copper cabling, install security cameras and commercial audio, video and paging, and handle service and maintenance on systems already in place. Yes. That is one of the most common reasons to run fiber. It covers the distance, and it doesn't carry electrical surges between buildings.
We plan the schedule with you. For seasonal businesses, that usually means doing the work before the busy months start.
